Following are some of the better known Prinz progeny and
descendants:
Due to his location there are naturally numerous winning
Prinz offspring to be found in Italy, such as the AIAD Junior
winner Era Della Sciara/1995 (Prinz x Miradi di Campovalano).
Or her full sister Ether Della Sciara, who took out
the brown Junior in the same show. Another Italian breeder
who has had great success using Prinz is Gabrielle Prosperi,
who used him three times, producing top progeny like Rayner
di Campovalano/1996 (Prinz x Taiga di Campovalano), the
AIAD Reserve Siegerin, and the 1998 Europasiegerin Orma
di Campovalano/1994 (Prinz x Taiga di Campovalano), and
her champion litter mate Oro Nero di Campovalano. Another
full sister, Oro di Campovalano, was also Reserve AIAD
Siegerin in 1997 as well as other top titles coming her way
since.

Then there is the 1998 DV Sieger Ardens Idol Cacao/1996
(Prinz x Ardens Huma Haron). A short coupled, masculine male
with some restrictions in the angulation. He also won the
CAC (for brown dogs) at the 1999 Bundessieger show. Also Italian-bred
is the Italian champion Allevemento di Coldicania (Prinz
x Shira di Coldicania) bred by Giovanni Capocasa.

Arielle d'Amour del Citone |

Alfa Adelante del Citone |
By far the two most profiled Prinz progeny are bred by the
Italian Dobermann Club president, Pierluigi Pezzano. These
are the champion and multi-Sieger Alfa Adelante del Citone
and his full sister, the champion and multi-Siegerin Arielle
d‘ Amour del Citone/1994 (Prinz x Tequila Mali del Citone).
Alfa was 1997 AIAD Sieger, Bundessieger, DV Sieger, IDC Sieger
and Europasieger and Arielle was 1996 AIAD Siegerin, World
Siegerin, DV Siegerin and Bundessiegerin. With his outstanding
phenotype, genotype and character, Alfa is clearly a sire
of signifigence in the making. Bred in the purple, he most
reflects his grandsire, Ebo v.d. Groote Maat/1982 (Egor
v. Eland x Baroness Eva v. Rensloo) in type and quality -
hardly surprizing being line-bred to Ebo on both sides of
his pedigree.

Melvas di Coldicania |

D`Islamorada Queresse |

Tahi-Reme Guni |
The list of successful Alfa offspring is legion. Spread
not only throughout Europe but the rest of the world. I shall
mention only a few of them here. Amongst the more prominent
ones are the 1997 AIAD Siegerin Maya di Latiano/1996
(Alfa x Dana di Latiano) and the 1997 IDC Junior Siegerin
and 1998 DV Siegerin Melvas di Coldicania/1996
(Alfa x Qualema di Coldicania) and 1998 Bundesjgsiegerin Sun
Black Story del Coinor/1997 (Alfa x Uriel del Citone.)
Most recently both the black and brown CACs at the 1999 AIAD
Sieger show were awarded to Quaress d’Islamorada (Alfa
x Zoe v. Franckenhorst) and Marlene dell’Isolano (Alfa
x Hantea dell’Isolano). Also two sibling winners in Italy
are Iris and Indiro Campagna Nenis/1996 (Alfa x Marika
Campagna Nenis), and another promising Alfa ofspring in Italy
is Roy Hubert di Latiano/1996 (Alfa x Fabeldi di Latino.)
There is the 1999 Baltic CAC winner was S’Lichobor Favilla
Flay (Alfa x S’Lichobor Svazdochka) and champions like
Tahi-Reme Guni (Alfa x Tahi-Reme Nursa) or the DSR
Sieger and multi-Sieger show class winner S’Lihobor Fantom
(Alfa x S’Lihobor Zvazdochka) also to his credit. In Germany
is Bugatti v. Karat/1998 (Alfa x Lambada v. Brandenburg)
and many other quality offspring too numerous to mention.

Come As You Are Alabama |
One Alfa litter to watch closely is coming out the IDC Siegerin
Come As You Are Alabama/1997 (Baron Nike Renewal x
Galaxy Gwendy). Being a Prinz granddaughter makes her D
litter Come As You Are, sired by Alfa, a line-breeding
on Prinz. Puppies have gone literally all over the world
and it’ll be interesting to watch which ones turn out the
best and the influence they have in their new homelands. In
Belgium is Come As You Are Dion (owned by Peter Beunekens
of the Roveline Kennel), in the USA is Dalli, Dakota is in
Spain, Dea Dia and Dogzilla in Finland, Demian in Greece,
Delfi Duna in Hungary and Detonator in South Africa (owned
by Hymie Leibman’s Hysand Dobermanns.)

Gino Gomez del Citone |

Tequila Mali del Citone |

Astor del Citone |

Ombra di Temaline |
Alfa’s sister,
Arielle, has also left her mark in the best possible way
that a bitch can, by producing a top black son that captured
the imagination of breeders. This young star is the 1998
Junior Bundessieger Gino Gomez del Citone/1997
(Astor del Citone x Arielle d’Amour del Citone), a product
of an incest mating between the brown Arielle and her
black full brother Astor. Making Gino Gomez an inbreeding
on Prinz on the male line and on the Siegerin Tequila
Mali del Citone/1991 (Lucifer v. Roveline x Haina
del Citone) on the female line. Gino’s sire, Astor
del Citone/1994 (Prinz x Tequila Mali del Citone)
also produced the Bundesjg.Siegerin d’Amore and Ombra
di Temaline/1996 (Astor x Gravin Uline v. Neerlands
Stam.) |
How well Gino Gomez will produce over the long term remains
to be seen. Although still young he has been quite a popular
sire, already siring a number of junior class winners in
Europe. Such as those from the V litter of Nostalgi Vargi/1999
(Gino Gomez x Nostalgi Lubava), the G liter of Gelo Robis/1999
(Gino Gomez x Gelo Robis Amideja) and Bombastic v. Hanseaten
(Gino Gomez x Chendra Novalis), who between them cleaned up
the Puppy classes at the 1999 Moscow Specialty Show. In the
UK is Drusus v. Adlercrest/1999 (Gino Gomez x Athene
v. Karat), imported by the specialist judge, David Stafford.
Other American–bred siblings to Drusus were exported to Brandenburg
kennel in Germany and Hymie Liebman in South Africa.

Gemielle d’Amour del Citone |
The same litter that produced Gino Gomez, also produced
an excellent female to match Arielle‘s own superior qualities.
This is the 1998 Junior IDC Siegerin and DV Siegerin Gemielle
d’Amour del Citone. Again, it‘s still early days for these
dogs yet.
Sweden also has also been influenced by Prinz, the best
know being the champion and 1992, 1993 and 1994 Scandanavian
IDC Siegerin (and BOB) Sascha v. Norden Stamm/1990
(Prinz x Nicole v. Norden Stamm). She also became Korad, which
means Angekört in Swedish. Sascha is another line breeding
on the K litter vom Norden Stamm and has produced a number
of Angekört (Korad) and show winning children. Amongst these
are Julietteville’s Wonder-Viking/1993 (Bryanstamm’s
Pablo-Picasso x Sascha v. Norden Stamm), a BIR Junior at the
Dobermann Specialty. His sister Julietteville’s Xdrilljé,
also Angekört. Other Swedish Specialty winning dogs from Sascha,
all bred by Folke Lötborn, are Julietteville’s Yniara,
Ybristo and Ysmir/1995 (Xiko van Het Wantij x Sascha v.
Norden Stamm.)
In Finland was Sascha‘s full brother, Storm v. Norden
Stamm. Highly praised for his excellent character he was
regularly used as the test dog for helper seminars in Finland.
He qualified for his Finnish Champion title before being exported
to Dennis and Chris Gallacher’s Seigen Dobermanns in Australia,
where his excellent character and working abilities were especially
appreciated and put to good use.

Baron Nike Renewal |
In Yugoslavia you can find a number of successful Prinz
progeny and their descendants. The most signifigent would
be the multi-champion, Europa Vice-Junior Sieger and 1998
IDC Sieger, Baron Nike Renewal/1995 (Prinz x Borana
Karmen Sawages). Nike‘s blue ribbon pedigree also has the
neccessary depth to assure he would be a great producer. Quickly
born out by the early appearance of his delicous looking daughter,
the 1998 IDC Siegerin Alabama Come As You Are/1997
(Baron Nike Renewal x Galaxy Gwendy), mentioned above.
Nike’s high conformation standard and firm character meant
he has a lot to offer. But once again political complications
rears its ugly head. He has also been unable to access a German
ZTP, thus missing out on many top West European bitches that
otherwise would have come his way.

Come As You Are Alabama |

Barbika Barbie Renewal |

Bagio Bobi Renewal |
Nike was not a one-off in his litter. A number of siblings
were not only successful show dogs, but also produced winning
progeny in several lands. Champion siblings like Barbika
Barbie Renewal and Bagio Bobi Renewal and Croatian
Club Sieger Bangor Boran Renewal. Or his full
sister, Baroness Zova Renewal, the mother of
the top placing Escobar Casa di Oz/1998 (by Irinus
de Ferignis), a Vice Junior IDC Sieger, Junior Sieger and
Landessieger, presently standing at Irinland kennel in Moscow.
Wellenberg Julfil Silvester (Nike x Wellenberg Julphil)
is another family member flying found the family flag high
in the East.

Bangor Boran Renewal |

Baroness Zova Renewal |

Escobar Casa di Oz |
Prinz and his two brown sons, Nike and Alfa, have proven
popular sires in Russia and the old East Block countries.
These once isolated outposts of Doberland are now offering
the West thriving competition. Born out by the large numbers
of high quality Dobermanns to be found in these lands today,
which are oft surpassing the best the West currently has on
offer. The Russians in particular have been on a post Cold
war shopping spree that they’ve managed to capitalize on splendidly.
It is a great pity that the tyranny of distance and incompatible
regulations prevents more exchanges of the many superior dogs
found in these lands today.

Indira v.d. Räuberhöhle |

Tigr Slavnoi Stai |

Trefovaya Dama iz Slavnoi Stai |
In Moscow is another Prinz daughter with a blue-ribbon pedigree,
the German bred Indira v.d. Räuberhöhle/1996 (Prinz
x Nemesis Figi v. Koepsel). Like others in her litter Indira
is a good bodied, if somewhat masculine bitch. Her grandmothers
are Kastra and Kalina v. Norden Stamm, which makes Indira
another line breding on the K litter v. Norden Stamm. She
has produced a number of champion, Sieger and BOB winning
sons and daughters, like for example Tigr Slavnoi Stai
and Trefovaya Dama iz Slavnoi Stai/1998 (by Ugor di
Villa Conte) and Tsaritsa iz Slavnoi Stai/1999 (by
Baron Nike Renewal.)

Tsaritsa iz Slavnoi Stai |

Marusha v.d. Räuberhöhle |

Bombastic v. Hanseaten |
In Croatia is Indira’s full brother, Ivenhoe v.d. Räuberhöhle,
a multi-junior Sieger, BOB, Slovenian Junior Champion and
Croatian Junior Champion. Another successful Prinz granddaugher
from the same kennel is Marusha v.d. Räuberhöhle/1998
(Alfa Adelante del Citone x Nemesis Figi v. Koepsel). Also
line-bred on the K litter v. Norden Stamm and like her famous
female forebears, she also became Junior Bundessiegerin in
1999. Proving the old German saying, the apple never falls
far from the tree.
In Germany is the black champion and multi-Siegerin, Chendra
Novalis/1993 (Prinz x Mia v. Norden Stamm), Sch.H. 3. Chendra
was IDC Siegerin, Europasiegerin and Bundessiegerin before
going in the whelping box and being bred to her close relations
Hertog di Fergnis/1992 (Eick v.d. Rappenau x Alina v’t gröne
Land) and the Junior Bundessieger Gino Gomes del Citone. Both
were males that closely supported her own blood. Amparo
v. Hanseaten/1997 (by Hertog) and Bombastic v.
Hanseaten/1998 (by Gino) are some of the more promising
offspring. There should be a caution made about the continuing
use of strong inbreeding as it can reach saturation point,
resulting in fine bones and other unwanted traits appearing,
especially probable when the individuals involved are not
physically and mentally superior in all respects.
In the USA is Cocochanel v. Tiffeny/1997 (Prinz X
Nobless v. Brandenburg), a bitch with firm character and excellent
drives. She has been recently mated her her close relative
Pelangristamm’s Armin/1996 (Graf v. Norden Stamm x Falina
v. Norden Stamm) and poised to begin a new career as a Schutzhund
competition bitch.
Although I have hesitated for a long time to write an article
on a dog of our own breeding I had to acknowledge that Prinz
has been a pivotable sire in many breeding programmes around
the world in the Ninties and for that reason alone his heritage
requires to be more closely examined.
