good question, why?

the standard calls for a medium dog.

you cannot work a large dog without damaging him in the long term.

this is a WORKING breed above all

OK, but some IDC siegers where really big.Gammon di Campovalano, Navarre di Villacasteli and Baron Nike Renewal for example. But been big was not their best quality.
Erren I think that you misunderstand something - shows are not for giant dobermanns. Some big ones won in the past because they had some other excellent qualities the breed was lacking then. Today been on the upper limit is a serious fault.

Hi Baskal, and all
you are talking about weight substance etc .....not height as the word giant can also mean in height ? the von wantij dogs are not exactly small but yet korung dogs ...jago ..ali were also not small ...main thing is that there not fat ...obviously the dog will be more ideal at about 43kg.for dog sports asfar as speed .However , is more about the strength construction of the dog ..if he has no forechest etc . weak build ..lack of correct attitude then he could get hurt .The main aspect of the lighter dog is speed over the distance
Nilo Rb looked quite a big dog to me , but others who have seen him maybe able to comment better on him
Ugor villa conte .. Ilane Darafal but these are dogs from the past.

Rottweillers are not exactly small dogs but work well
cheers

I think that Erren seeks for a tall and strong- not only a strong male.
The IDC sieger males I mentioned were over 50 kg and near - some over- 74cm.
I saw some them in life. Another very big male was Moro DN.
I dont think that a big dog cant work - but medium size is more correct.

Hi Baskal

I have seen Moro dn in videos . seemed.a dog with much presence ..ring attitude , and super head. I believe you also saw Nilo rb . I agree about medium sized as also there has to be a limit, as the breed has to maintain nobilty, with elegance.
Also agree no probs with a big dog working , more a problem a small dog working poorly constructed.
Another big looking dog Tyson di campo ..and good at long attack
Victor casa balestrieri also looked a big dog
cheers
