Finnish Breeding programme
A breed specific goal-oriented programme for is a necessity when a breed club is applying for the approval of the Finnish Kennel Club for any exceptional measures to guide breeding. The most common of this type of measures are different programmes or regulations which aim to help the breed club prevent hereditary diseases spreading within a given breed (the program in Finland is called: PEVISA). Formulating and applying such programmes and guidelines for a given breed is well advised much for this and many other reasons. This programme for breeding replaces the previous programme for breeding accepted in 1992 by the Finnish Doberman Club and the Finnish Kennel Club...[continued in PDF file]

The American Dobermann Association (ADA) would like to propose to the IDC Congress the introduction of a new IDC award, the “IDC UNIVERSAL SIEGER & SIEGERIN” Champion Title. IDC congress 2004
Today, in quality of the AIAD president, on behalf of the AIAD National Board and in representation of all our peripheral delegations and all the Italian breeders, I'm here to submit an official request to this Committee to modify the rules and regulation about awarding the IDC titles. Starting from next year we would like to assign the IDC titles only to those dogs that have accomplished the ZTP and have also a minimum of working grade...[continued]
ZTP
The purpose of ZTP is to ascertain those Dobermanns which are, according to the breeding standard, suitable for breeding, and to eliminate unsuitable dogs from the selection. ZTP's can only be judged by breed judges. The judge and the helper are to be named by the club's official committee. ZTP's can only be held if they are authorized by DV (Dobermann Verein) and the event has been made public. Also, ZTP's should only be held if there are at least 10 dogs enrolled. The maximum number of dogs to be....[continued]

Schutzhund
Schutzhund is a German word meaning "protection dog." It refers to a sport that focuses on deve loping and evaluating those traits in dogs that make them more useful and happier companions to their owners.Schutzhund work concentrates on three parts. Many familiar with obedience will recognize the first two parts, tracking and obedience. The Schutzhund standard for the third part, "protection work", are similar to those for dogs....[continued]
General Characteristics
Dobe pups have a propensity to put "everything" in their mouths. Be sure to clear the yard/floor before letting a puppy out/down to play. Living outside in a kennel or expected to stay in the backyard without constant attention and in a position as an important member of the family causes a host of problems with a Dobermann. Often a Dobe that is relegated to this type of living arrangement goes hand in hand with poor training and these Dobes often show evidences of shyness...[continued]

The History of Dobermann
In the village of Apolda, in the state of Thuringen, in the southern part of Germany lived Louis Dobermann (1823 - 1894). Louis Dobermann was employed as a tax collector, a "dog catcher", a night watchman, and as a supervisor for local slaughter houses. As a night watchman, Herr Dobermann found his need for a suitable dog to accompany him on his rounds. It is also not beyond imagining a protection dog would be desirable while working as a tax collector carrying large amounts of money....[continued]
IPO
Trials and tournaments should serve two purposes. The first purpose is to determine a dog's suitability for a particular use by obtaining a title. The other purpose is to help to maintain or increase the health and working ability, as far as working dog characteristics are concerned, from generation to generation within the breeding program. They also help to maintain and increase health and fitness. A working title is also considered proof of a dogs breed worthiness...[continued in PDF file]

Basic tracking rules
