I cannot believe that you are 12 years old. It seems like yesterday that you
came into our lives bringing joy and happiness to our family. When you came to our home I had no idea in what I was getting into.
All my friends and relatives said we were crazy to get a dobermann because they
are dangerous dogs.
They said that since I have a small daughter I must watch you carefully but instead of me watching you, you looked after our daughter, watched her grow up to be a young lady.
Then came the same old story, over and over again, people said dobermann's brain will grow large when they turn seven years of age causing them to attack their master and everybody around.
As you know, Olsen, I tried to explain to them that it was not true and that your brain was not getting any bigger but, honestly, I don’t think that in all these years I convinced even one of them. Later on the real shock arrived, the so-called breed professionals said that I shouldn't worry about your brain growing larger because you will never reach seventh year of age. Well, you know, Olsen, you are twelve years now and some of those professionals are not
around anymore. Maybe it's their brain that grew larger or maybe something worse?
And now when we go out for our daily walk everybody wants to say hello to you and they all want to pet you. You have became part of their lives, especially when I started telling them of all your achievements and that they could see your photos in the Internet.
When they don’t see you they worry and they all ask me if you are ok. You have not only become a personality to them but a sincere friend!
Having you in our family has definitely made life a lot better and happier for all of us.
For twelve long years you have greeted me everyday when I come home from work with excitement and love. You hear the car, you hear the keys and there you are at the door waiting to greet me. You have not missed even one single day to show me your love but I am sad
and bitter because soemtimes I have not returned to you all this love and loyalty that you
have given me. I promise you that I will do my best to return to you all the love that you have given
me, not only to me but to my whole family over these long years. I will not leave you alone for a second and I will cherish all the moments that are left for us to share together.
