Robbert ...
Thank you for posting these articles from Simon Rietveld - I too had these once, along with his marvelous book - stupid of me, I lend them to a person, who I thought was honest - alas I never got them back, not the book ...
Being the fortunate owner of "Cila v. Fürstenfeld" and having the opportunity to vist and talk with Herman Palmer, I can only say, he passed away too soon - _________________ Bitten Jönsson |

Hi Robert & all
Thxs for the article, interesting to see the late Margaret Bastable with Citto v furstenfeld
http://www.dobermann-review.com/phpBB/download.php?id=2703
and the super expression on the dog bottom left .
pity not in colour to see how dark the eyes , and the maghoney tan of his dogs .
http://www.dobermann-review.com/phpBB/download.php?id=2702
in my opinion his dogs had super bone with elegance , they just were not full of substance ...they had the important ingredients of the elegant dobermann style lovely heads , necks ,,super dark markings and eyes with bone .
Other breeders who have tried to breed for this normally lose too much bone ..or the tan is too light , and the head not so good .
I do not think Herr Palmer was too interested in the kind of fanatical side of the training , merely interested in that the european dobermann is alert , and ready to react to something strange if need be ..which most seem to be able to do even now ..from european lines anyway
cheers
