Hello Im new to the forum. I will be getting in spring a Euro Dobe( I live in Czech Rep) . I want to make sure I give it enough exercise etc. We had a Bernese who died at 4.5 of kidney failure. My question is when should I let the dog off the lead on walks through the forest? Is this only when she obeys the recall 99percent or at a certain age? I had no probs with the Bernese as it would come when called, although I think I was walking her far too young...your thoughts please.... |

| Hi and welcome! You could use a longish (20 metres or so) thin rope while wandering in the woods with your puppy. The puppy is able to run quite freely and you are able to take control as also teach the puppy the word "stop!". |
